Lockwood Family
Combined contributions from Brad Mullins and Oran Archives
Brad is the son of Howard & Nancy Lockwood Mullins and grandson of Earl (Johnny) & Helen Lockwood.
In 2024 Brad shared photos of the Lockwood family. Roberta Lockwood (daughter of Johnny & Helen) died January 6, 2024 at the age of 96 in an Iowa City nursing home. She was raised in Oran. She had 2 children, Cherie (deceased) and Sean, with her first husband John O’brien. She later married Kay Baker and Grover Purcell.
Brad’s memories of Oran: It really was a complete town in those days- school, bank, diner, hardware, grocery, gas station, barber, etc. I recall my grandmother (“Nanny”) sending me to Bennet’s grocery to get things, which they would bag in back and ring up on their old cash register. And I could go into the hardware and pick out some toy, tell Fat that Bampa said I could get it, and just walk out with it. Wow.
